In our days the research related with objects modelling has been a source of hard work in several distinct areas of science as, for example, mathematics, mechanical, physics, informatics, etc. One major application of objects modelling is in medical area. For instance, it is possible to consider the use of statistical or physical procedures on medical images in order to model the represented objects. Its modelling can have different goals like 3D shapes reconstruction, organs segmentation in 3D or 2D images, etc. Examples of others applications are: temporal tracking of objects, tracking and analyses of objects deformation, objects recognition, objects simulation.

As man ventures out into space, it is a safe bet that sooner or later he will make first contact with another race of intelligent beings-- perhaps in a chance meeting of two ships whose paths cross while exploring the Galaxy. Such an encounter would certainly be a momentous day in the history of two worlds, but what happens when it's time to leave? How could the Earthmen be certain that the aliens were really friendly? How could they be sure that the strangers wouldn't follow their ship back to Earth as the prelude to a sneak attack. For that matter, how could the aliens be certain that the Earthmen wouldn't do the same to them? Would anyone ever be able to go home?

Entry: Web Journal
Focus: Reconstruction

Reconstruction is a peer-review journal, but its editorial process is unconventional. Contributors are asked to select one of the domain editors to act as a reviewer. The domain editor's review is signed by the editor, and the domain editor acts as a contact for the contributor during the revision process. Additionally, contributors are asked to select no more than three keywords from the keyword list. This allows the Submissions Editor to choose two blind reviewers based upon the keywords chosen by the contributor. If, however, a contributor thinks that more than one domain editor is suitable to review the submission due to their stated areas of expertise, more than one domain editor may be chosen. In this case, both domain editors will sign their reports, and the blind reviewer may choose to do so as well. The reason for this process is simple: Most academic journals dismiss submissions they deem inappropriate; Reconstruction, however, works with authors to ensure that the work can be published, if not through Reconstruction, then through another journal of high caliber.
